Match Report: Real Madrid 4-1 Real Sociedad: Benzema the star as Real triumph over the Anoetian side.

Bale fails to shine on Ronaldo's absence but Benzema was excellent.

Real Madrid came back from behind to score four.

Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid was up against David Moyes's Real Sociedad at Santiago Bernabeu last night.

The duel was said to be for the home side, though they missed their star player Cristiano Ronaldo who is suspended for two games against Cordoba. Real Sociedad was on the top when the last the two met, back at late August, where they came from two early goals behind to win 4-2.

However, Real Sociedad enjoyed good start with Elustondo scoring after just 39 seconds into the game with a header from a corner.

Real Madrid reacted quickly, with James Rodriguez opening the account Real with a good header off Marcelo's cross in 3rd minute.

Madrid then had lot of control in the game. With a lot of long passes and good dribbles from Isco and Kroos. The midfield turned stable and the game was steady. It was then that Bale missed a free post. Real Madrid played a good counter attack with Isco passing the ball to Benzema. The Frenchman dribbled down to the box and passed to James who could have tapped in to the goal. But the Gareth Bale interfered in between and shot off target.

However, Ramos tapped a rebound from Benzema's shot to give Los Blancos' the lead.

The second half was also bright. The first attack of Real Madrid resulted in Benzema's goal. Bale played a one-two with Benzema and then returned the ball back to the Frenchman who scored his first of the night.

The last goal was off from the boots of Benzema. A stunning strike from a well-played attack. Karim passed the ball to James who returned it to Benzema and finished the return with a wonderful curved shot.

Ronaldo suspension reduced after referee's voice.

Cristiano Ronaldo clashed with Edimar of Cordoba last night.

Real Madrid superstar and winger Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off by referee Alejendro Hernandez for kicking down Edimar of Cordoba.

The incident occured to have happened at 82nd minute when Jose Crespo and Edimar attempted to stop Ronaldo and got kicked by the Portugese. Cristiano was also reported to have slapped him, but referee ensured that booking was for kicking an opponent when not in possesion.

Spanish Football Federation ruled him for next 3 games: Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. Cristiano's loss for 3 high-profile games was a setback but Alejandro's influence on the incident ensured that Cristiano Ronaldo can take part in last two of three.

Why Ospina should keep his Arsenal place ahead of Szczesny

Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny has spent the last few games on the bench having been dropped in place of Colombian goal keeper David Ospina who has kept three clean sheets against Hull City in the FA Cup, and Stoke City and Manchester City in the Premier League since stepping in. While Ospina’s opportunity may have come about due to Szczesny’s transgressions off the pitch, a quick look at the performance of both keepers over the two prior seasons suggests that Ospina has maintained a stronger record between the posts.

Ospina vs Szczesny Goal Keeper Statistics over the past two seasons:

In the 2012/2013 season, Ospina averaged 1.81 saves per goal conceded (while at Nice in France’s Ligue 1) while Szczesny averaged 1.75 saves per goal for Arsenal. Goals conceded per 90 were almost equal for both keepers at 1.02 and 0.96 for Ospina and Szcsesny respectively. During the more recent 2013/2014 season, Ospina completely out-performed Arsenal’s Polish Custodian in the saves per goal category with 3.39 compared to Szczesny’s 1.95, and also conceded fewer goals per 90 (0.91 compared to 1.11). Given Ospina’s statistical superiority over the past two seasons as well as a strong performance at the 2014 World Cup, he is certainly deserving of an opportunity to show what he can do at Arsenal, and so far he is off to a good start.

Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid: Whites look to round off two goal chase in a high class test

Atletico Madrid 2-0 Real Madrid aggregate.

Real Madrid must either give it all or forgetting the treble.

If Madrid really is the best club in the world, they must prove it tonight. Carlo Ancelloti's greatest match as a Whites' coach may be tonight.

Fresh from Balon d'Or win, Cristiano Ronaldo must be giving his personal best with his new specially designed silver-gray Mercurial. Meanwhile, Ramos must be aware of a card and Pepe must do his best.

Marcelo and Carvajal has got the wingback job. Isco, James and Kroos; definitely, the midfield option tonight. And finally Benzema should recall his form at the month of October and Bale must be ready to playmake rather than going for something himself.

Atletico, meanwhile may be going for something simple. Having a two goal lead is something like drinking coffee of a hundred bucks.

Defend hardest, Score in set-pieces, and repeat .

Defending is also important for Real. One more goal for Diego Simeone would make him decide for tactics against Barca in next round.

David De Gea may join Real Madrid

The United shot stopper refused to extend his contract and may switch sides.

Arrival of Victor Valdes may or may not have caused problems.

Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez is keen to bring De Gea back to Spain, this time against city rivals and Champions League winners.

David De Gea earlier was placed second at Atletico Madrid at the age of 17. But Sir Alex Ferguson brought the then 19-year-old Spaniard to BPL and also played against Real Madrid during 2012-13 season.

The Spaniard then grew into one of world's best and without doubt, the finest in his position this term.

His heroics against Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City this season cant be forgotten.

Madrid are said to spend 38 million euros for the 22-year-old, but Madrid dont really need him right now.

With two of La Liga's best keepers in the squad, the arrival of De Gea may cause problems. Iker Casillas had already not been in a good mood with his international teammate during their time at Spain dressing room.

De Gea was in favour for Del Bosque instead of Casillas after the World Cup.

The departure of one goalie may happen due his arrival. Navas has been a second choice so far.

Right now, though both goalies are not in their peak, Madrid doesn't another shot-stopper.

MADRID - Real Madrid look for first win in calender year.

Carlo Ancelotti would look to forget last week's nightmares with a win against Catalonia based-Espanyol. Real Madrid are currently on a losing streak losing two excluding a friendly against AC Milan held at Dubai.

The start hasn't been bright for Los Blancos' since their Club World Cup victory back on Dec 10. The win against San Lorenzo, thanks to Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale, took Whites to their 22nd win in all competitive fixtures.

Madrid then paid a trip to Dubai to play a friendly against AC Milan. Real lost the friendly 4-2. But ,however, Cortiba, the team which holds most competitive wins in a row(24), said that the loss wasn't considered.

Yet, Real Madrid lost their next game in a packed Mestalla stadium against Valencia. The defeat ended Madrid's winning streak. The loss was followed by another: against Atleti.

Madrid would look to turn around their poor form with a victory against Espanyol.

The game would be played at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for the first time since the 4-0 win against Ludogorets Razgrad at 16:00 CET.
