Key Soccerlytics Insights:
- A look at the goal-scoring records of Negredo and Soldado over the past three season at Sevilla and Valencia respectively, shows an astonishingly similar pattern which suggests that Soldado should score more this season if Tottenham is able to play to his strengths
- Both strikers have averaged 19.67 goals over the past three seasons
- During the 2010/2011, 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 La Liga seasons, Soldado scored 18, 17 and 24 league goals for Valencia, while Negredo scored 20, 14 and 25 goals for Sevilla respectively
- Negredo and Soldado also maintained a similar Minutes Per Goal (MPG ratio) over the past three seasons (See graph below)
- Negredo has however been able to keep his MPG ratio within his La Liga range since transitioning to the Premier League at 127 minutes per goal
- Soldado on the other hand has struggled to adapt to the Premier League so far, and has seen his MPG ratio almost double to 253 minutes per goal since joining Tottenham (See graph below)
